Kruger National Park - Day 2

It was another exciting day on the Safari. Unlike yesterday we didn't see as many different animals but we had the chance to witness some special natural animal behavior. But first I have to share that we were served  BBQ Impala tonight. It was really good and didn't have the gamely taste most wild animals have. It was also very tender, which I am sure is due to the way it was prepared. Love trying the local foods. Sure glad I brought some expandable pants with me!

Now, for the adventures we had today. The biggest adventure was a Lion and Cape Buffalo show down. There was a pride of Lions laying under some brush next to a river bed.

Then a herd of Cape Buffalo started coming down the hill to go to the river for water.

The pride of Lions was composed of about 7 young males. They decided that buffalo might taste pretty good so they started out to try and catch one.

The buffalo finally sense the danger and take off running back up the hill.

One of the lions was able to attack one of the buffalo.
However, the other lions just sit there and watch so the buffalo gets away.

Mean while, a Hyena strolls past the scene with something he had caught.

Now the buffalo are upset the lions attacked one of them so they go around the bush and come up on the back side and chase after the lions.

The herd is then able to make their way to the water.

This is a very short version of the total adventure.
I will have many more pictures and narrative when I get better internet.

That is all for now as I am having difficulty uploading tonight.
Enjoy!
