Buenos Aires

Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017

Arrived in Buenos Aires around 9 in the morning after an 11 hour flight from Atlanta. It was close to noon by the time we collected our luggage, got through customs, gathered all of the group together, and drove into town. Our rooms weren't ready yet so we took a short walk around the hotel area and then went to get some lunch.

Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and has a population of over 17 million. It has a strong Spanish and Italian influence in both culture, architecture, and food. There is a obelisk in the middle of downtown on 9 de Julio Avenue which is the widest avenue in the world and honors Argentina's Independence Day, July 9, 1816.

Here are some views of the avenue and the city from the top of our hotel.
