Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden

We went to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens this morning. Kirstenbosch lives up to its reputation as the most beautiful garden in Africa and one of the great botanic gardens of the world. Few gardens can match the sheer grandeur of the setting of Kirstenbosch, against the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. I could have spent days here wandering through the many garden areas. The pictures will speak for themselves. Enjoy!

This is a special gold hybrid Bird of Paradise ( yes Dad I thought of you!)

The canopy walk on the sky bridge offered some great views of the gardens.

We did a city tour, a township tour and had our home cooked dinner with a local family today. But, I am tired and am just getting back to my room after 10:30. Will have to post the rest of the day's activities later. Got to get up at 5:30 in the morning so we can hopefully make it to the top of Table Rock.
