Stellenbosch

Traveled to the town of Stellenbosch today. It is located in South Africa's wine producing region and is also the heart of the Cape Dutch culture. The town had a lot of Dutch influenced architecture. The country side had beautiful rolling hills covered with vineyards.

The King Protea is the national flower of South Africa

We visited a winery where there was a wine tasting for the group and then they served a great lunch.

The building is setting over an old foundation that was discovered. The glass floor allows you to see the old foundation but it was a little disorienting to walk on.

Tonight we have our farewell banquet dinner as some of the group leave early in the morning.
